Longfield Academy are celebrating another strong year of Post 16 qualifications. All our graduating students have achieved grades to be commended and we have a number of students and subjects that deserve a special mention for outstanding outcomes:
The history department in particular have achieved their best set of results yet with 100% of students achieving C or above! The business department should be congratulated on supporting their students to achieve 50% A/A* grades and the art team are thrilled with the number of A* grades achieved, which will come as a surprise to nobody who saw the fantastic art exhibition at the end of last academic year.
As an Academy, we are exceptionally proud of Isabella Sells and Scott Reeves, both of whom got four A Levels at two A grades, one B grade and one C grade, and of Lauren Hill who has received one A*, double B grades and one C. The Academy are also pleased to share the grades secured by Evangeline Walsh (double A*, A and B), Maisie Keaveney (double A in business, A and C) and Luke Walden (Dist*, Dist and B).
This proves once again that at Longfield Academy students achieve very well in the academically rigorous A levels. We are particularly pleased with the achievement in the new linear spec A levels, where our students have excelled in art, photography, history, sociology and English literature. Our staff and students have worked exceptionally hard to ensure that the change of style has not impacted on our ability to gain excellent results.
The hard work and dedication that the students have put in means that a number of them are now taking up places at either university or higher level Apprenticeships. Degree subjects our students will be starting in September include Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (Samantha Clark is our first student to be leaving to study this!), English Literature, Banking and Business, Economics, Journalism, Adult Nursing, Primary Education and Aerospace Engineering.
We wish all of our students well and look forward to hearing about their continued success via our successful Alumni programme.
