Located throughout London and at our Sevenoaks Head Office, our Apprenticeships offer opportunities to train and qualify in a range of roles such as Civil Engineering Technician, Quantity Surveyor, Plant Mechanic, Highways Maintenance Operative, Mechanical Engineer, Cleansing CCTV Technician, Traffic Management operative, Street Lighting Electrician and Finance Assistant.

We work collaboratively with the Construction Industry Training Board and other local approved colleges to offer GCSEand A’ level entry opportunities as an alternative to sixth form, or university.

You will have hands on experience from day one doing a real job as a valuable member of our team. You will receive on-going training at work alongside skilled and experienced colleagues as well as learning in a college environment.

Sales Support

Job Description:

beta-w640To provide customers with an efficient and effective service by giving Account Managers administrative support so that they can focus on selling opportunities.

The ability to deal with customers and colleagues is essential for this job. Sales support     must be able to handle incoming orders or enquiries by mail, telephone, email or online systems. They must have the interpersonal skills to deal politely and effectively with complaints as well as enquiries. Sales support also need good team working skills to progress orders through other departments, such as purchasing, accounts and warehouse.

Sales support must have the skills and attention to detail to carry out clerical, computing, administrative and recordkeeping tasks efficiently. They are responsible for checking details of incoming orders on a computer system, checking that product numbers, discounts and prices are accurate. They update customer records and communicate details of orders, enquiries and deliveries to account managers and sales managers. They also keep account managers informed of any problems or issues that customers might raise during a sales call, such as late deliveries or faulty products.

By providing support to colleagues in the team, sales support help account managers improve their productivity and effectiveness. Sales support take on time-consuming tasks, freeing account managers to spend more time with customers and prospects. They maintain day-to-day contact with regular customers, providing quotes, responding to enquiries or updating them on order status or delivery arrangements. They also provide an initial reply to customers’ emails,and phone calls when account managers are out of the office at lunch or when all are busy on the phone.

Duties will include:

  • Running daily back order reports;
  • Price list maintenance, (ensuring price files are run and are up-to-date);
  • Back office/EDI administration ensuring orders are released, expediting order exceptions, processing   Direct Debit orders;
  • Liaising with key stakeholders e.g. Customer Booking-in Clerks (Logistics, Birmingham warehouse) to schedule deliveries; Beta’s Purchasing department for stock arrival times, and Product Managers;
  • Being the point of contact for internal/external requests e.g. providing PODs;
  • Manage basic invoice queries and expedite queries that are outstanding;
  • Assisting Account Managers with putting together quotes;
  • Ensuring marketing collateral is relevant and up to date for new business opportunities;
  • Provides adhoc cover e.g. incoming sales calls during busy periods.

Candidate profile:

Beta is a successful award winning distributor of IT solutions. We are currently looking for individuals with energy and ambition to immediately fill the role of Sales Support.

Based not far from Docklands (E14) the role focuses on providing the Account Managers with day-to-day administration support. You will be responsible for maintaining contact with customers, providing quotes, responding to enquiries or updating them on order status or delivery arrangements. As the point of contact for internal/external queries you will keep the Account Managers informed and then coordinate the resulting actions.

Interpersonal skills are integral to building quality relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be encouraged to use initiative to further improve the effectiveness of sales support.

For anyone that likes lots of contact with people and wants to be part of a young fast paced environment then this role could be for you. Experience working with customers could be an advantage but it’s not essential. A willingness to learn, self-motivation and good written and verbal skills are however a must.

And, who knows in no time your next role could well be Account Manager.
