At Longfield Academy, we have been thrilled to spend the morning celebrating success with our students and their families. With a significantly larger cohort than last academic year, Longfield Academy welcomes another set of pleasing results. In line with 2018, 60% of students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics and we saw an increase in our Grade 5s and above to 31% – our best ever!
Particular congratulations go to the Mathematics Department on attaining their first grade 9 with not just one, but three students! Also, triple scientists tasted success with a 100% 9-4 pass rate in Chemistry and Biology. Religious Studies saw an impressive 37% of the cohort achieving a Grade 7-9, and once again, Humanities maintains a strong set of results with outcomes exceeding the national average.
Alex O’Donnell, Principal, is pleased with our outcomes and says: “Longfield has once again celebrated fantastic results, showing consistent strong outcomes across subjects year on year. The hard work of our students has paid off and they should be rightly proud of their achievements. As always, we had so many staff wanting to celebrate with the students and their parents today – the strength of our community shines through!”
Most notable achievements belong to:
Lauren – 1 Grade 9, 8 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7
Catherina – Grade 7 – 9 in Maths, Physics, Religious Studies and Biology
Tom – Grade 7 – 9 in a staggering eight subjects
Brooke – Grade 7 – 9 in English, Mathematics, Art, Geography and Religious Studies
